The local Police Department wanted to do something special for Star Wars Day to appeal to the community. And according to research likely to make Star Trek fans happy, Star Wars is the most socially acceptable franchise, which appeals to multiple generations, that highlights authoritarian rule in a fun and palatable way.
And on this May 4th, the Police have decided to add the word “The” when using force in any and all interactions.
In past years, the police have honored George Lucas’s second most over-saturated franchise (the first being Indian Jones) by shooting first and having daddy issues on May 4th and every other day, too.
